MidMountain is fierce folk.

Banjo-wielding songwriter and frontwoman Andrea Peterson is an experienced journalist who takes the audience on lyrical journeys into our past to explore themes that still resonate in our present.

Our first EP Fatal Female Agency — featuring five original Appalachian-style murder ballads set in the West Virginia timber and mining booms — was recorded live at the band’s debut show at Rhizome DC in Spring 2019 with guitar support from Andrew Breiner of local punk band Bacchae.
